Les miserables live!

Last year, on a trip to the United Kingdom I had the opportunity to watch the play "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo, in the Criterion Theatre, located in the middle of Picadilly Cyrcus. I enjoyed the play since it was very well organized, however, some pats weren't so interesting.

To start with, when I first saw the movie "Les Miserables" before I saw the play, to be able to understand it better on the theatre, I remember being so bored I couldn't keep my eyes open, although I was focused on keeping myself awake troughout the entire movie to then enjoy it in London, and thank God I did, because I wouldn't have been able to keep up with the play. This play is really connected to history and politics, therefore if the audience is not so informed abourt certain facts, many aspects of the play will not have any relevance. Personally, I think the play was a bit long, that is the reason  why at a point the play becomes quite heavy for the audience.

The play itself,  however, was perfectly organized and the actors and actrices were extremely talented, especially when it comes to singing. The lights and props of the musical gave the stage a realistic atmosphere of the setting. Moreover, despite the fact that my seat was far away from the stage I was able to  see and hear everything perfectly. The way it all turned out great gives me the feeling of this play being planned and rehearsed for months, I can not imagine how hard everyone must have worked. Although al that was worth it.

I would recommend the play to people who are interested in history and politics rather than to families with little kids or teenagers who are not keen on those matters. However if you are intesrested in how the play was set you should wait no longer and buy a tickey right now!
